What are the differences between the MS and ME degree programs?

The ME degree program is designed for students who do not have a BS or BSE in chemical engineering. The ME degree contains 3 extra courses at the UG level that prepare the student with the necessary background needed to pass the graduate level courses. The MS program is for students who have a degree in chemical engineering or for students who have taken courses that cover chemical engineering core curriculum. These decisions are usually made during admission, but can be discussed further with the graduate program director after you have started your coursework at UF. We can switch students between the MS and ME degree programs as needed.
