Anuj Chauhan

Students, faculty, and staff gathered to thank Professor Anuj Chauhan, for his service, and offer best wishes as he starts his new position as Department Chair of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Colorado School of Mines.

While at UF, Chauhan had a distinguished career as an innovator, a scholar and an educator, a mentor, and an academic leader. He joined UF in 2001, and reached the rank of full professor in 2011. He served as Director of Graduate Studies from 2009-2017, and as Associate Chair from 2013-2017. He is the D.O. Shah Distinguished Faculty Fellow.

Chauhan’s research at UF has addressed important problems with high societal impact. His research is characterized by the application of the principles of fluid mechanics and interfacial phenomena to biomedical problems. He has successfully moved his research from the lab to commercialization with 30 submitted patent applications, seven issued patents, and several licensing agreements. He is also involved in two start-ups to commercialize his work.

In the classroom, Chauhan is appreciated by his students for his lecturing style and ability to blend rigor and anecdotes to keep classes entertaining.

Always smiling, Anuj has been a wonderful colleague, and will be sorely missed. We wish him the very best in this new stage of his career,” said Department Chair Carlos Rinaldi.
