Process Modeling

Process modeling information resources relevant to chemical and process engineering.

  • Advanced System for Process ENgineering (ASPEN) Virtual Library
Contains tutorials on process modeling and analysis as well as an extensive archive of ASPEN input file examples.
  • Aspen Technology, Inc.
Simulation and modeling products for the Chemical Process Industries.
  • Bryan Research & Engineering, Inc.
Includes descriptions of PROSIM, a general purpose process simulation package, and TSWEET, a simulation package specializing in gas sweetening and sulfur recovery processes. This site also contains demonstrations of BR&E's programs and information on contacting BR&E.
  • CAMO
CAMO - Computer-Aided Modelling, A/S - is a company specialising in software for multivariate analysis. Includes descriptions of their main product, The Unscrambler, which is a tool for modelling, prediction and classification of multivariable data sets.
  • CAPD - Computer-Aided Process Design Consortium
The consortium in Computer-Aided Process Design is an industrial body within the Engineering Design Research Center that deals with the development of methodologies and computer tools for process industries.
  • Center for Integrated Process Modeling Control and Operations
The mission of CIMPCO is to establish a unifying approach to chemical process operations. This involves the development and application of the various tools of modeling, analysis, optimization and control, and their integrated use to provide process operations which will have a competitive edge.
  • Chemical Reaction Network Toolbox
Chemical Reaction Network Toolbox (CRNT) is a program for IBM-compatible computers.
  • Cray Research
Includes a Directory of Applications that have been ported to the Cray. The Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biotechnology software packages are of particular note.
  • K&K Associates
Describes the TAK III professional thermal analysis package. Tips and techniques and Thermal Data for thermal modeling are presented as well as links to other thermal-related pages around the world.
  • Process Systems Engineering Research
Describes Process Systems Engineering (PSE) being applied withing to group to System Engineering disciplines such as modelling, optimisation and control to chemical and biochemical process systems.
  • Simulation Sciences Inc.
Includes descriptions of their process engineering simulation software packages: PROVISION and PRO/II, process simulators; HEXTRAN, a steady state simulator for heat transfer systems; PIPEPHASE, a steady state, multiphase, fluid flow simuator; and INPLANT, rigorous simulator for complex piping systems.
  • The Thermochemical Calculator (TCC)
TCC is a WWW tool which carries out calculations for reacting ideal gas mixtures. Capabilities include chemical equilibrium, well-stirred reactor simulations, reaction balancing and thermochemistry, calculation of thermodynamic and transport properties, and execution of various thermodynamic processes. TCC is based on CHEMKIN, and incorporates several state-of-the-are combustion and CVD chemical reaction mechanisms.
