2011 Regional ChemE car competition
took place at Georgia Tech in
Atlanta, Georgia. We were able to bring 23 students thanks to our sponsors.
The car was named The Gator, and it used an Acid-Base reaction
to generate heat, which then produced electricity to power the motor
with the use of thermoelectric generators.
entry into the 2010 Southern Regional Chem-E-Car competition,
the Cougar was able to
place after stopping within
three feet of the 66 foot competition distance on the second attempt.
The team had placed 2nd nationally at the
AIChE national conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Things that were improved from
